About the Location
Life Magazine in 2008 put out a special travel magazine "Dream Destinations: 100 of the World's Best Vacation Destinations" and Whidbey Island was one of them.
The town of Coupeville is located in the heart of Whidbey and is considered the jewel of the island. It is the second oldest town in the state of Washington and was a popular place for sea captains to retire in the early 1800's.
The quaint little shops, the county museum, excellent restaurants featuring mussels fresh from the waters of Penn Cove, are just walking distance from the cottages. Coupeville is also located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and its average rainfall is only 18 inches a year.
